In my house, we use "magic lotion" fo...Interesting. In my house, we use "magic lotion" for the bumps and bruises of everyday life. It often helps tummy aches, muscle aches, and even headaches when applied to the temples! We also use real medicine for major problems. I think small children need reassurance that their feelings are valid and need to feel that we grown-ups recognize that validity. I don't see this as much different from kissing the boo-boo to make it better. <BR/>The placebo effect is real, which is why we give control treatments in clinical trials.
