We usually don't write about entertainment industry disputes but since we blogged about rhetoric of science scholar Leah Ceccarelli's analysis that was published in the Center for American Progress science journal a few days ago, we thought it might be of interest to our readers. Dr. Ceccarelli used the upcoming film, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (which will be released on Friday 4/18) as an example of a manufactured scientific controversy (manufactroversy.) Now the film itself is embroiled in a controversy over intellectual property rights. Evidently, the film used John Lennon's legendary song "Imagine" without permission from Yoko Ono. Premise Media didn't get rights from the Killers either. Word on the street is that they also are suing XVIVO for XVIVO's suit against them for stealing a video clip (and changing the color palette).
