Medical vs Surgical Abortions: No Greater Physical Risk for Future Pregnancies

According to an article published in the New England Journal of Medicine yesterday, researchers found no evidence that a previous medical abortion, as compared with a previous surgical abortion, increases the risk of spontaneous abortion, ectopic pregnancy, preterm birth, or low birth weight. Researchers analyzed records of approximately 12,000 women from Denmark's national abortion registry and their birth registry to gather statistics for the study.
